The Power Rule Explained

By PZKDQ | University Math

Derivatives Made Easy

The power rule is one of the most useful derivative rules. If you have f(x) = x^n, then f'(x) = nx^(n-1). That is it. For example, the derivative of x^3 is 3x^2.

This rule works for any real number n, positive or negative, integer or fraction.
